Jocelyn Faye is a boutique head wear store based in Wellington NZ. Each hat, headpiece and accessory is lovingly and thoughtfully hand crafted by artist, designer and founder - Megan Ransom.
Megan has had a career in the arts for over 35 years. She studied fashion and design established her own fashion label and worked as a personal stylist during the 90s. Megan is a 3D conceptual artist who has the gift of being able to work within many genres of the arts including fashion, floristry, landscape design, interior decorating, furniture design / restoration and she is a revered fine arts bronze sculptor.
Megan was the mind behind establishing the Boheme Gallery in Wellington in 2013, where she exhibited her own bronze works alongside Wellington’s up and coming artists. Boheme Gallery soon became a hub for artists and an art school was incorporated within the gallery.
Her unique hat inspirations come from global travel, soaking up different cultures and art styles from around the world. She most definitely brings her artist’s eye in creating Jocelyn Faye’s most amazing hats and headpieces.

“I commissioned Megan at Jocelyn Faye to design an elaborate hat to wear to the Governor Generals Gala, hosted at the Government House in Wellington.
The entire experience was wonderful, I even chose the fabric, it was so collaborative, from the very first consultation, to the day I went back to the Parlor to pick my hat up.
Her level of craftsmanship and attention to detail exceeded my expectations, and I was the envy of every women there !"

I called Megan and we organized an appointment and she asked me to bring my wedding dress with me.
​
Megan was wonderful to deal with, I told her I wanted to look elegant but also capture the essence of being a traditional bride and wear a veil.
​Megan asked me to slip into my wedding gown and bought out her collection of antique veils, and we found the perfect one.
To complete the elegant look Megan placed a collection of applique flowers from the 1950’s, placed them over where the veil was attached to a hair comb bought the design all together so beautifully.
Megan incorporated these very flowers into my husband's and his best man's boutonnières and they looked stunning"

Tania has safely kept her veil as an heirloom and hopes that one day her daughters may wear it when they get married.

" I asked Megan to make me a pretty hat sun that I could wear during our holiday while my husband and I were on a cruse, that would not only look glamorous but be practical as well.
I absolutely love how beautiful it is and have worn it to many other special occasions we are invited to during the summer.
